Packing & Moving Your Belongings
SML Removals pride themselves on taking the greatest of care with your belongings.
Your Packing team will arrive at your property and begin by packing your belongings into boxes and putting furniture into reusable protective cases. Fragile items, such as stemware and artwork will be wrapped in protective materials to ensure their safety and furniture will be disassembled where necessary to allow for safe and efficient transportation. Your designated essential items, usually including your bed, kettle and TV will be left unpacked until the morning of your move day to allow for minimal disruption of your day-to-day life during your move.
On moving day, your team of professional movers will load your belongings and transport them to your new home.
Unloading & Home Dressing
Once your moving team have arrived at your new home, they will begin to unload your belongings into their pre-determined designated areas. If you have opted for our Unpacking service, the team will also unpack your boxes, putting the contents into their designated places according to your moving plan. The final task for your unpacking team will be to collect any waste created during your move, including boxes and packing materials. As a company that believes in helping the environment, we aim to use moving supplies which can be recycled or reused as much as possible.
It is important for us to leave your home looking like a home. We understand that in order for us to do this it may take some reshuffling. Home Dressing is included free of charge in our Packing & Moving service and our staff will be happy to move things around for you, to ensure that you are happy with the placement of all of your belongings in your new home.

Alex did a fantastic job packing everything, including a fragile piece of art. On the moving day the guys were fast and efficient and took great care of my belongings. I used SML Removals back in June when I was moving from a rented house into a house which we had just bought. I cannot recommend these guys more. I had done a lot of research on movers, read a lot of reviews, had a lot of quotes and surveys. I must have had 10 removal companies calling me everyday to try and get my business. They all promised cheap prices. They all said they could beat the other guys quote. I had people offer me the moon, and at a discounted price! After all my research, I decided to go with SML because they came to my house and took photos to give me an accurate quote. They were very clear about the service they could provide me and the reasons why it was best to do things the way they were suggesting. When the time came to do the move, they all showed up on time as they said they would. The packers were different than the guy who lifted the boxes. All of them, packers and movers were very conscientious and treated our things, both big and small, with great care. We didn't have a single thing get broken or damaged. They even helped me regain access to my house by crawling into a small window to get m back into my own house after I'd locked my keys inside. (Thank you, Donovan!) These guys worked hard. Worked hard over several days. Communicated promptly. Were nice to be around. Easy to talk to, and good at their jobs. I have since recommended them to several friends and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. Great job, guys! Keep up the good work.
We would like to say a massive thank you to SML for our move - they were brilliantly responsive and professional every step of the way you put us at ease with quite a tricky move from day one. They were the most reasonably priced we came across and honestly have been the most professional and fantastic company. They were on hand to answer any questions and gave us clear information from the get go with timings and what was required of us. We are so grateful as it felt like such an overwhelming job to coming from our London flat and my parents home - but Diego and Marian were polite, punctual and just a delight from the start. They worked really hard and were very careful with all our items - wrapping the furniture and taking great care to move everything. Even the tricky items like our awkward treadmill they were able to shift and they completed both jobs with a fantastic attitude and good humour considering how much there was to do. We had two heavy book shelves and many boxes of books. Even my parents were impressed with the care they took. I would be happy to recommend you to anyone I know to be moving and once again - thank you so much for all your help and support. We were so impressed and I am so glad we made the decision to use your company!
Excellent service from start to finish. Quote was comprehensive and accurate. The planning was detailed and they made it very clear what to expect. The packers were fast but careful. The movers were patient and went out of their way to ensure our move was as smooth as possible. Everyone was polite and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to use SML again or recommend to a friend.
Diego and Jordan were absolutely fantastic with our house move today. Nothing was too much for them and they did a great job moving quite a lot of heavy furniture out of our old house into our new house. They were polite, friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. Communication with the company was easy too. Strongly strongly recommend SML, made our move so easy. SML have been a pleasure to work with - they made our move day so much easier than previous moves. They were on hand in the lead up to reassure us that everything will fit (and it did easily - their vans are huge) and we had the van loaded on its way well before lunchtime, our belongings carefully packed and looked after. SML Removals handled our move from a four bedroomed house in South London to the South coast. They were booked at short notice, when we panicked about some poor reviews the company we’d booked had been given. SML gave a competitive quote, and were brilliant from start to finish. Moving house is really stressful, but it definitely helped to have complete confidence in them. The guys packed up over 2 days and were all lovely, helpful and professional. They took great care of our possessions and, at the end of an incredibly long and hot moving day, they were still smiling and didn’t leave until we were happy all was in the right place.
