Michael was great from start to finish, I was recommended by a friend, called Michael and had a quote given. Michael and colleague was very punctual and on time, service was fantastic for full flat removal. Every item was covered with cloth to protect items from damage and mattresses were placed in polythene to protect them. Great care was given to every item and removal was completed in half a day. This company has now moved me twice within Edinburgh. This time it was from a flat in a block which had been badly damaged by fire. There was no lift as the electric is off so the only access is through an underground car and up smoke-smelling stairs. The access issues were just not a problem. They are friendly and efficient and I would definitely recommend them.

From my first call with Michael I knew I had found the movers for me. At 79 and recently widowed, I was relocating 200 miles, and leaving my home of almost 50 years. That's objectively a big step. Organising this essentially on my own (after a lifetime of arranging everything in partnership with my husband) also daunted me, as did the fact that it had been 47 years since I last moved home and now I was downsizing from three stories and five bedrooms to a two bedroom flat! How would it all work? Michael’s calm and straightforward approach on our initial call completely changed how I felt about the move. Instead of a daunting hurdle, I had a clearly defined job with calm, competent, professional support. I felt looked after, and this set the tone for the whole move. Of the five quotes I’d gathered Michaels was both the most straight forward and the cheapest, but my gut feeling of trust in his honesty, care and professional competence really sealed the deal, and proved very well founded! On the first of my three moving days my two man team – Kamil and Lee, thank you fellas! – arrived exactly when they’d said they would and with a warmth and professionalism that put me immediately at ease. I was astonished by how quickly, easily – and above all carefully – these two lovely men packed and boxed up three floors and a lifetime’s worth of belongings. By the afternoon of day one they’d cleared the top two floors and made a good dent in the ground floor too. All of this while ensuring my life’s trappings were all properly packaged for transport (I didn’t have a single breakage in the whole move). The morning of day two was a similar marvel of competence and care as the last of my belongings were packed up, and the truck was loaded. Then my son and I waved off our happy heroic duo and drove the length of the A1 from Yorkshire to collect the keys to my new home in Edinburgh. Day three was even more miraculous as my things almost seemed to effortlessly materialise in my new top floor home. Kamil and Lee even managed to work around my son and me as we decorated my new living room, and both were consistently good natured, careful and kind. I can’t praise Edinburgh Movers highly enough. What I had expected to be a stressful trial was made simple by the kindness, professionalism and sheer capability of our team. If you’re in the market for a moving company, and especially if – like I did – you feel a little bit overwhelmed by it all right now, they will look after you.

Kamil and Lee did a fantastic job. They arrived early, were friendly and worked hard together to load the van. They packed everything in about 2.5hrs which we were really impressed with. They made our move day so much easier, giving us time to close off the last boxes and clean the place. When we arrived at the new place they unloaded super quick - only 2hrs and we were completely moved in. Great job guys! Communication with Michael leading up to the day was good too - he was responsive to our queries and helped to reassure us that they would take care of everything.

Edinburgh removals carried out my move last week and I was delighted with the way they carried it out, nothing was to much trouble for Michael and the guys when we got to the new property we found the lift had broken down and thought this would be a problem as we are on the top flat and it was the hottest day of the year But the guys just carried on and never complained. The initial impressions were good. Michael visited my house promptly and gave a competitive quote. The boys who came to empty my house were wonderful; nothing was too much trouble for them. However, the continued experience with Michael was far from ideal. After he secured our business he went incredibly quiet. When the boys arrived to empty my house, there were less items than they expected so what was booked as a two day job became a one day job. One of the boys also said I'd need a smaller storage unit. I emailed Michael three times to ask what the new storage price would be and had no response. When I was finally invoiced I was charged the initial quote with no explanation. One of my items went missing and was finally located in one of the vans. One of my items was broken on arrival (with apologies from the boys) and I was told that Michael would deal with it. No apology was offered by Michael and no money was offered off the invoice. When I challenged this a curt email was sent offering £40 off. I ended up paying the invoice promptly just to end the relationship with him. Would not rush to recommend but the boys doing the removal itself were great.

Phoned Michael at 8am Monday morning for an emergency pick up at 1pm… I had been let down by a well known company.. my very heavy table was collected and brought to the destination and even built… 5 star company.. thank you

Edinburgh Removals were super helpful. They gave us the best quote and gave us the option to pay a deposit for boxes as long as we returned them in good condition. They brought the boxes a few days before our moving date which was great, it meant we could pack in our own time. On the day itself they turned up on time and were cheerful and friendly, I felt bad for them as we were moving from a 4th floor flat with no lift, but the guys were still smiling. What should have been a 4 week period of storage turned into 6 months when we ran into difficulties purchasing our new home. This was not a problem for Edinburgh Removals so gave us one less thing to worry about. When we got our stuff back, it was all in perfect condition. Can't fault these guys at all.
