Used Ferriday & Alder for our move from Reading to Somerset, they did a partial pack for us. The lads were through and did a good job of packing, no damage found when unpacking. Price was competitive with others and a lot less than Pickfords. Paul was easy to deal with. All in all a good job.

I was recommended Ferriday & Alder. Paul is very easy to talk to, clear in the services they offer and what we could expect from them. Due to how quick and soon the completion date was set, Paul managed to accommodate our move. On the day the team that arrived did a great job of packing the vans/lorries up, disassembling and then reassembling the furniture once we arrived in our new home. They all worked really hard. After using removals to move house I don't think I would go anywhere else. Overall fantastic customer service and great value for money.

Really pleased with the house move service. Paul gave us the confidence that we would be in safe hands and indeed we were. The removal team was friendly, polite, punctual and hard working. All our goods were packed carefully and transported safely over a long distance. The unloading at the other end was quick and efficient. This is not the kind of service you call upon that often, but when you do, you want it to be trouble and stress free. It was! Price paid was excellent value for money. Paul Brampton had been brilliant once I had an offer accepted on a Property I was moving to. We arranged in January but as property chains and searches go, the dates kept being pushed back. Paul made sure that I was always considered for my dates and assured me that they can get the removals all done in one day. When the team arrived, they were absolutely brilliant in their services, with collection starting at 10am (in London) and all dropped and finished by 6pm (Newbury). Absolutely brilliant!

We had four quotes in total and Ferriday and Alder were the most expensive by a small margin. We chose them because Paul (the owner) really understood our requirements and went out of his way to be helpful. We were moving from South Oxfordshire to Devon which requires a multi-day booking. Paul penciled in our dates early on and kept them free for us even though we couldn't give him a firm booking until 6 days beforehand. All the seven men involved knew exactly what they were doing and were very polite and helpful. Everything arrived safely with no breakages and (mostly) in the right rooms. Would definitely recommend. We are confident we made the right choice.

Great experience start to end. I had four quotes for the move, upsizing to a house just a few streets away, of all of them Paul made the whole process smooth unlike some who were late and complaining they were really busy or pressured selling me by offering discounts if I signed within a set time-frame, Paul was relaxed, on time and very transparent about everything with clear communication and no pressure. He made the choice was easy. The moving team was impressively fast and took care of our items on the packing day. Despite being a man down due to injury on moving day, we barely noticed as the crew worked quickly and carefully a man-down to move into our new three story home. Would definitely recommend this local, well-run company.

I used Ferriday & Alder to pack my belongings and move them into storage. The removal team were punctual, hard working and professional. The owner Paul was always easy to deal with. I’m very happy with the service I received.

The team of 4 (same people both days) were helpful, friendly and professional. The quote was mid-range of 5 and worth every penny. Packing, loading and unloading were done quickly but without rushing. Box labelling was clear and thoughtful touches included putting a bedside lamp in with the bedding, a dustpan and brush left handy in the kitchen. Everything down to the smallest item was well wrapped - no breakages, nothing soiled or damaged - perfect.

A truly excellent bespoke service, carried out with exemplary customer service - and good value. Paul, the owner of the company was our point of contact throughout the process. It was an extremely complex move and he bent over backwards to accommodate all of our requirements - quickly and with the minimum of fuss. He was a real pleasure to deal with and the removal team could not have been more efficient or pleasant to have around. They were hard-working, very experienced, flexible and thoughtful - anticipating problems before the occurred. I could not recommend this company more highly.

In spite of their quote being almost twice as much as a competitor, I chose to use them because they sounded professional and competent. When it came to the drop off, they had to manage on their own because we had stuff to deal with at the old house. To keep it simple, we had labelled boxes with "upstairs" or "downstairs" and our new neighbour was there to oversee everything. However, they ignored most of the labelling and dumped stuff wherever there was space. We had two chests of drawers and a load of exercise weights in the kitchen, all five uplighters in the toilet and boxes stacked around the log burner and on the sofa. They left the place in complete chaos. It took us twenty minutes to clear a path to the log burner so we could light it and warm the place up. The guys primary objective was clearly to get out as quickly as possible and get home. They had no interest in doing a good job. It was a disgraceful effort. When I complained to the company they responded with justifications but no apology. They eventually offered £100 as a token of good will but that was a small fraction of the total bill. I can't recommend these guys at all.

Ferriday & Alder did a fantastic job with our move. They stepped in at the last minute and were so easy to work with. Really hard working team, everything was loaded with care so that nothing would get damaged. They made the entire move so much less stressful. Would not hesitate to recommend them!

Great experience working with Ferriday and Alder, from the quote, which was comparative, and the interactions as we agreed dates with the chain, Paul and his team provided a flexible can do approach. Come the packing day the team were punctual , curtious and efficient, we had a big load and filled two vans. The actual move from Redaing to Rugby was challenging with some of the worst weather of the year and delays in exchanging meaning the team had been sitting around for hours and then under pressure. But they did a great job to get everything in and the right place in three hours! Thankyou!

Hired to move family from rented to purchased accommodation (4 beds) - didn't use their packing/unpacking service. Site visit undertaken. Quotation received within 24 hours and competitive (we had 3 companies quote). Arrived on time on move day with the right number of vans and people. Vans were loaded quickly, efficiently and carefully (2 hours) and then unloaded at the other end in the same way. I can't recommend highly enough.

Ferriday and Alder came on the recommendation of a neighbour who had used this company for their house move last November. From start to finish they were excellent. Helpful and courteous team, who packed fragile and delicate items with great care and delivered them safely to their destined rooms safely. Seamless move, would highly recommend.

I had a very good experience with Ferriday and Alder for moves from Hurst to storage and storage to London - friendly and helpful staff at the office and great care and efficiency from movers. After over a year in storage everything was in perfect condition. Would use again!

Highly recommend! Mark sorted the quote asap and they were flexible about the moving date as we still hadn't exchanged in the week of the move. Personal touch as he dropped off boxes to use on his way to football! Moving day itself was run by Dave's team, they were amazing and took away all the stress! Moved us out in 2.5 hours; took apart the bed plus packed some other bits up for us, even took off the door to get the sofa out! Patiently waited when sellers delayed moving out, took 1.5 hours to move in. Plus made up the bed so we didn't have to later!

Fantastic trouble free move with professional, reliable people. Paul even had my pot plants on his front lawn to make sure they didn’t die as we had a delay between us bodily moving into the new house and when our stuff could be delivered. Paul said he would do our move and even though we had very little notice before the day and even though they were already booked up on and around the moving date, he somehow managed to fit us in around other moves and delivered our stuff over three separate trips. All the movers were very professional and really good workers. They just kept going until it was finished . I can’t recommend them highly enough .

Paul and his team provided us with excellent service, from moving our furniture from our old home into storage (and also part to where we were staying in the interim) where it was stored for two months, to transporting our furniture from storage to our new home. The team were friendly, efficient and good humoured and took much of the stress off what was a big move for us. The service was very reliable and the work carried out promptly and efficiently.
